The start of the school year is right around the corner, so it’s time to start brainstorming lunch ideas. The following are delicious and nutritious gluten-free lunch ideas I am sure will be a hit with your kid.
The Monster Sandwich
This sandwich is a clever way to make your kids smile and find excitement in their lunch. The monster sandwich can be made with your kids favorite lunch meat for the tongue, a few slices of dairy-free cheese for the teeth, and cucumber and olive slices for the eyes.
Add in any other fillings your family loves, like lettuce and tomato, and sandwich everything between two slices of Goodman Gluten Free White Bread.
Pair with yellow pepper sticks, strawberries, and blueberries.
A Lot-o Avocado
This one’s for the avocado lover in your life and can double as breakfast! Simply toast a piece of Goodman Gluten Free Whole Grain bread and add sliced avocado, top with a sprinkle of your favorite gluten-free seasoning blend or flake salt.
Pair with a Goodman Gluten Free Banana Mini-Muffin, carrot sticks, and orange slices!
The GFDFGC (gluten-free dairy-free grilled cheese)
Heat a pan with your favorite dairy-free butter alternative, and two slices of Goodman Gluten Free White Bread packed full of your choice of dairy-free cheese alternative. Grill until the bread is golden brown and the “cheese” is melty!
Pair with veggies, hummus dip, and mixed fruit! (Hint: wrap the grilled cheese in aluminum foil to keep it warm in your kids lunchbox until lunchtime.)
The Hot Dog Person
Silly and delicious. This one is great if you want to give your kiddo a laugh! First, make your hot dog person by cutting legs and arms.
Add eyes, a mouth, and shirt buttons with gluten-free mustard. Next, take a slice of Goodman Gluten Free Whole Grain Bread, add a drizzle of gluten-free mustard and ketchup, and then add your hot dog person!
Pair with cucumber slices, mixed fruit and chocolate, and a Goodman Gluten Free Banana Mini-Muffin for dessert.
BONUS: 3 Ingredient Chocolate & Strawberry Treat
An after-school surprise that your kids will love. Sprinkle two slices of Goodman Gluten Free White Bread with chocolate chips and thinly sliced strawberries.
Place open-faced on a baking sheet and broil for approximately 5 minutes or golden brown. While the sandwich is in the oven, melt a small handful of chocolate chips in the microwave to make your chocolate sauce.
Remove the sandwich from the oven and microwave for 10 seconds to get those final few chocolate chips melted. Sandwich the two slices of chocolate and strawberry bread together and drizzle with your melted chocolate!
